KSA Slaps EUR 1.2M Fine on Unlicensed Operator Techno Offshore Limited for Offering Illegal Gambling Services
Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the gambling regulator of the Netherlands, has recently taken strict action against an unlicensed operator by imposing a hefty fine. The chairman of the authority emphasized the strict prohibition of providing unregulated gaming services in the country.
Techno Offshore Limited Fined for Illegal Gambling
In an official statement, the KSA announced that it has fined Techno Offshore Limited EUR 1.2 million for offering unlicensed gambling services through its nolimitbet.com and simplecasino.com websites. The Dutch regulator revealed that the company failed to prevent Dutch players from accessing their products and incorporated engagement mechanics that can encourage overspending, prohibited in the Netherlands.
Furthermore, Techno Offshore Limited’s gaming brands lacked visible age verification during registration, further violating Dutch regulations.

Michel Groothuizen, chairman of the KSA, expressed the regulator’s commitment to protecting Dutch players from illegal online casinos. He highlighted that offshore operators like Techno Offshore Limited do not adhere to the strict rules in place to prevent gambling addiction and protect vulnerable players.
Groothuizen emphasized the unfair competition posed by unlicensed operators and the risks they pose to players due to lack of age verification, acceptance of crypto payments, and absence of gaming limits.

KSA’s Continued Efforts to Combat Illegal Gambling
The KSA has intensified its efforts to crack down on the black market by targeting illegal betting apps available on platforms like PlayStore and AppStore. Despite banning 20 such apps this year, new ones continue to emerge, featuring deceptive logos and imagery associated with legal providers.
Consumers are urged to report any suspicious apps to the KSA to ensure player protection.
Additionally, the KSA recently warned Hotel Gaming Services BV for violating the role model ban by featuring a local ice hockey team in an ad for Circus Gran Casino gaming arcades. Dutch operators are prohibited from using celebrities to appeal to younger players.
The regulator also issued a warning to Noord Zuid Alliantie, operator of the Lucky 7 Casino brand, for a customer service violation.
